Having arrived in Brazil in late October 1966, I ministered in the parish of Florida Paulista in the state of São Paulo for a total of 8 years, in Adamantina for a much shorter period and, for a while in the late 1970s, in New York where I was studying in Fordham University.

Ghanaian Spiritan reflects on his country’s most famous son

The former UN Secretary General Mr. Kofi Annan was buried earlier this month in his native Ghana. Without doubt, he was our country’s best-known and most accomplished statesman. Mr. Annan and his twin-sister Efua Atta were born in April 1938 in Kumasi in what was then known as The Gold Coast. In the local Akan language, their first names signified "born on a Friday" and their shared middle name meant “twin".

Jubilees of Ordination to the Priesthood

Events were held in Dublin in June 2018 to mark the anniversaries of ordination in 1958 and 1958. A total of 5 Irish Spiritans celebrated the 60th anniversary of their ordinations. For 11 others it was the moment to mark their Golden Jubilees. See photo and summary bio-data below.

Presentation of Benemerenti Medal

Congratulations to Eileen Browne (Promotions / Mission Animation) who received the Benemerenti Medal on Pentecost Sunday 2018 in Kimmage, in recognition of her more than 50 years of dedication to Spiritan mission.
