Reflection 19th November 2017

A Reflection for the Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Matt 25:14 – 30 ( http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/111917.cfm )

We all have a job to do.

What God gives us we put to use for ourselves and for others: how we do that is up to each one of us.

Wisdom is like the ‘worthy wife’ of today’s first Reading who is eager to bring peace and prosperity to her husband and family. Wisdom is sought after eagerly leading one to discern the most advantageous way forward on life’s journey.

When Jesus returns at the end of time there will be a reckoning: those whose actions have made the world a better place will join the Lord in the bliss of heaven. Those who are lazy and have not exercised their talents for the good of others will be shut out from paradise.

Thy Kingdom come!
