Reflection: 2nd December 2018

A Reflection for the First Sunday of Advent

Luke 21: 36 (http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/120218.cfm)

Advent

A door opening to life

to all on equal terms

promised by Jesus

revealing at Christmas

this welcoming love

celebrating home.

Who can fathom god’s live

this Divine desire

to be really with me?

How can dust and ashes be so valuable?

Out of the countless millions

of possible human creatures

God loved us first.

In our Advent unclear waiting

Our Father wants to find me

more than I Him.

How does God need such as me

so weak and sinful

a person groping

for this liberating truth?

It is called love

and “god is love”
