Stress 

Stress has been shown to be a leading cause of illnesses such as high blood pressure and heart disease. 

Stress is so pervasive that it seriously affects the quality of our lives and relationships. 

Stress is a part of life and will not go away. 

Too many of us try to deal with stress through medication or we try, without success, to numb the effect by other means. 

There is another way… 

The good news is that each of us has the resources within ourselves to deal with stress. 

This Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR) is designed to help you to build up your own internal resources to deal with the stress of life. 

What is the MBSR Course? 

This course is based on the model developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Medical Centre of the University of Massachusetts. 

The effectiveness of the course has been demonstrated through thousands of research projects and clinical trials. 

The course has been adopted as an official treatment for depression and stress in some of the leading medical centres in the world including the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) in the UK. 

What does the MBSR Course involve? 

  • 2 hours and 30 minutes class once a week for 8 weeks. 
  • One experiential all-day session 
  • Mindfulness Meditation for 35 minutes a day using an instructional CD. 

Who is the MBSR Course for? 

The course is for people suffering from stress, fatigue or illness or anyone who simply wants to regain some balance in life.

Presenter and Assistants 

The MBSR course will be presented by Patrick Coughlan D.Min, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and Certified MBSR teacher. 

Patrick will be assisted by Peter Conaty M.A, Spiritual Director and Jane Ferguson, M.A, Psychotherapist.
